Mid DevOps Engineer

About the role

Coforge is hiring a Mid DevOps Engineer in San José, Costa Rica, working in a hybrid mode of 2-3 days per week on site. The role covers SCM migrations, Jenkins and Kubernetes operations, GitHub Actions and Python automation, and the maintenance and security of the DevOps service portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute SCM migrations from Bitbucket to GitHub, including repository, workflow and pipeline transformation.
• Operate and maintain Jenkins on Kubernetes, including upgrades, scaling, plugin management, troubleshooting and production support.
• Implement GitHub Actions workflows, GitHub Advanced Security and Python-based automation while administering Artifactory and related repository services.
• Maintain the availability and security of the DevOps services portfolio, remediate vulnerabilities, manage changes and provide technical escalation support to the L1 DevOps support team.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of relevant DevOps experience.
• University degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working within Agile environments and sprint-based delivery.
• Advanced English (B2+ or higher), spoken and written, for daily collaboration with US-based teams.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in GitHub Actions and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with SCM migrations, especially from Bitbucket to GitHub.
• Experience operating Jenkins in production environments.
• Knowledge of Python for automation and scripting; familiarity with Linux administration.
• Preferred: Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, security scanning and vulnerability remediation, and CKA/CKAD, GitHub Actions or GitHub Advanced Security certifications.
