Metrology-Quality Technician I

About the role

The Metrology‑Quality Technician I is responsible for performing dimensional inspections and metrology evaluations on molded components during product validation and daily production. The role ensures that all parts meet or exceed customer quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and document metrology tests on molded components using laboratory equipment according to schedule and demand.
• Follow drawing requirements, inspection plans and GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5).
• Operate inspection tools such as OGP Smart Scope, depth indicator, calipers, gauges, microscope, micrometer, force‑testing bases and meters.
• Conduct critical variable measurements, data normality studies and process capability analyses for cavity replacements, new molds, machine, process or material changes.
• Perform First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and verify mold repairs according to defined procedures.
• Participate in test method validation (TMV) and train Quality Inspectors on work instructions.
• Maintain measurement equipment, report any issues, and communicate results to the Lab Coordinator.
• Review and approve metrology reports from other technicians and assist in creating or improving lab procedures.

Required profile

• Experience using measurement and inspection equipment.
• Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to type and generate inspection reports.
• High school diploma (preferred).
• Basic English proficiency (test required).
• Familiarity with international manufacturing and metrology standards (preferred).
