Mechanical Drafter – CAD & GD&T

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Drafter to join Teradyne’s test and automation team in Costa Rica. The role supports the development of new instrument products by creating and managing mechanical drawings and collaborating with hardware, mechanical and PCB engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Work with hardware and mechanical engineers to layout and conceptualize new instrument products.
• Translate mechanical drawings into Cadence Allegro board symbols and support PCB assembly development.
• Interface with external resources to create and approve board and instrument mechanical drawings.
• Develop tools and workflows for mechanical information requests from customer‑facing teams.
• Support the design of instrument files for the semiconductor industry and launch new products within cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Technical degree in mechanical design or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical drafting.
• Proficiency in English.

Required skills

• SolidWorks
• PDM Works
• AutoCAD
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards and GD&T
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Cadence Allegro (preferred)
