Machine Operator I

About the role

Medtronic is seeking an entry‑level Machine Operator I to support its manufacturing and distribution operations. The role involves operating and maintaining a variety of light‑weight machines in a medical‑device production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate light machines such as small lathes, feed mills, extrusion units, drills, presses, power brakes, shears and saws.
• Set up, adjust and perform routine maintenance on machining equipment, including CNC‑controlled machines.
• Use prescribed gauges, templates and accessories to measure tight tolerances and verify product quality according to statistical process control.
• Report equipment malfunctions, recommend adjustments and assist in continuous‑flow production.
• Participate in shipping, receiving, inventory control and storage activities within the distribution center.

Required profile

• High‑school diploma (Bachillerato en educación media).
• Previous experience in the medical‑device industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures under close supervision.
• Basic administrative skills for data recording and inventory tasks.

Required skills

• Operation of light machining equipment (lathes, mills, extrusion, drills, presses).
• Machine setup, adjustment and routine maintenance.
• CNC machine handling.
• Use of measurement tools and gauges for tolerance verification.
• Quality inspection using statistical process control.
• Basic inventory and shipping/receiving procedures.
