Lead Software Engineer

OfficeSpace is building an AI‑powered operating system for the built world. As a Lead Software Engineer you will shape the future of our workplace platform, driving technical execution and raising engineering standards across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deliver high‑performance applications using Ruby on Rails, React and modern cloud technologies.
• Build scalable, maintainable software for enterprise customers on a rapidly growing platform.
• Design AI‑assisted engineering tools and automation to improve developer productivity and code quality.
• Own projects end‑to‑end, from discovery through production deployment and long‑term maintenance.
• Embed automated testing, code‑quality practices and continuous validation early in the development lifecycle.
• Manage scope, balance technical debt, protect sprint commitments and reduce reactive work.
• Establish performance benchmarks and continuously optimise speed, scalability and reliability.
• Champion security, technical integrity and sustainable architecture.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, code reviews and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Translate ambiguous product requirements into well‑scoped, testable engineering work.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience building modern full‑stack applications.
• Strong expertise with Ruby on Rails and React, or equivalent modern backend and frontend technologies.
• Proven experience designing scalable distributed systems for enterprise customers.
• Deep understanding of performance, security and reliability concerns in large‑scale software.
