Lead Developer

About the role

TransUnion is seeking a Technical Lead to drive the development and delivery of applications and services within its global platform ecosystem. This remote position will lead a new engineering team in Costa Rica while collaborating with teams across the US and India.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive technical direction, architecture, and design of cloud‑based applications and services.
• Lead the development of scalable solutions, ensuring high standards of code quality, performance, and security.
• Provide hands‑on guidance and end‑to‑end ownership from design through delivery.
• Manage and mentor a team of DevOps engineers and full‑stack/cloud developers.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to align requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Promote modern engineering practices, including Agile development and AI‑assisted productivity tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years in technical leadership or people‑management roles.
• Proven experience leading teams with direct reports.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
