Senior Java Application Developer

About the role

As an Application Developer focused on the Java tech stack, you will build and maintain high‑quality, scalable applications that power Walmart’s digital transformation within the Finance Tech team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java‑based applications across a diverse technology stack.
• Collaborate with architects and business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Java application development (Java 8+).
• 3+ years with Spring Boot, message brokers (Kafka, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ), REST APIs, and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Proven end‑to‑end SDLC ownership, including automated deployment and production monitoring.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Agile methodologies, and cloud‑native architectures (Azure, GCP, or AWS).
