Laboratory Manager

About the role

AvionLyx is building a new electronics‑design team for aerospace applications and needs a Laboratory Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of its engineering labs. You will ensure that all testing activities meet rigorous aerospace standards and support the development of both test equipment and flight hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily lab operations and guarantee compliance with AS9100, DO‑254, DO‑178C, and related aerospace standards.
• Maintain and update SOPs, work instructions, and test protocols to ensure repeatable, auditable processes.
• Enforce ESD controls, environmental requirements, calibration standards, and laboratory safety practices.
• Support internal, customer, and certification authority audits.
• Manage equipment selection, procurement, calibration, maintenance, and allocation.
• Collaborate with engineering and program teams to prioritize testing activities and shape the lab’s testing roadmap.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing aerospace or regulated test laboratories.
• Strong people‑management skills and ability to act as the primary contact for internal teams and external auditors.
• Hands‑on technical credibility in a regulated test environment.
• Ability to translate evolving testing needs into clear, feasible plans.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AS9100, DO‑254, DO‑178C, ARP4754B standards.
• Experience with ESD control procedures.
• Calibration and equipment maintenance expertise.
• Familiarity with system‑level and low‑level embedded hardware/software test assets.
