Director of Study Abroad Programs

About the role

Maximo Nivel is seeking a dynamic Director to lead its international study abroad portfolio in Costa Rica. You will oversee volunteer, internship, TEFL, language immersion, and adventure programs, ensuring high‑quality client experiences and program growth.

Key responsibilities

• Improve and expand all international study abroad offerings.
• Drive enrollment growth and uphold a culture of excellent client service.
• Identify, develop, and manage new volunteer projects and internship placements.
• Source and coordinate host families, housing, and travel logistics for participants.
• Handle end‑to‑end client and program management, including airport pick‑up, orientation, site visits, donations, and issue resolution.
• Produce regular reports in Excel (monthly registrations, weekly arrivals, housing, class schedules, feedback).
• Manage invoicing, payment collection, and liaison with academic and accounting teams.
• Lead a team of 5‑7 field and client service managers, set objectives, and report to the Country Manager.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in international education or study‑abroad programs.
• Strong client‑service orientation and ability to work with diverse partners.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team and meet business targets.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Experience with CRM systems for client tracking.
