Director, Functional Area Geography Lead

About the role

The Director, Functional Area Geography Lead provides strategic and operational oversight for all functional‑area activities within a defined geography. Reporting to senior leadership, the role shapes regional plans, drives compliance, and champions innovation and digital data‑management practices across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute regional strategies aligned with global objectives, ensuring consistent quality and regulatory compliance.
• Lead cross‑functional collaborations with non‑GDMS partners and enterprise support functions to meet geographic goals.
• Communicate risk, trade‑offs, and decisions to executives, promoting automation and risk‑based data‑management.
• Design the operating model and multi‑year optimization plan for the geography, integrating global strategic priorities.
• Oversee operational governance, ensuring inspection readiness, compliant controls, and decision‑ready data products.
• Analyze performance trends, drive efficiency improvements, and provide governance updates.
• Manage regional risk, escalation, capacity planning, and resource forecasting in partnership with portfolio specialists.
• Serve as escalation point for country/regional issues and participate in global improvement projects.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a regulated, data‑intensive environment.
• Strong strategic thinking with ability to translate global objectives into regional actions.
