Data Analytics Intern

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Data Analytics Intern in Heredia, Costa Rica. The role is designed as onsite, with the expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office. It is open to students or recent graduates pursuing a degree in any field, and focuses on hands-on experience in data analysis and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Create interactive dashboards with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools, showing trends, anomalies and key performance indicators
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and design clear, usable executive reports
• Improve existing dashboards and build scheduled reporting processes
• Write Python or R scripts to automate analysis and reporting, and build automated data validation and exception reporting
• Help with exploratory data analysis, and support predictive analytics and machine learning projects where appropriate
• Design, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, and acquire, clean and transform structured and semi-structured datasets
• Build reusable data models, optimize SQL queries, and integrate data from APIs, databases, flat files and cloud storage
• Monitor pipeline health, document datasets and schemas, and teach data cleaning and transformation techniques

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field
• Typically works during school breaks and returns to university; part-time options may exist during the school year in some countries
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Required skills

• Python or R, SQL and Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with relational databases, Git or other version control systems, and data cleaning and transformation techniques
