Cyber Range Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Cyber Range Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain cloud‑based cyber ranges and training environments. You will work closely with security researchers and training specialists to create realistic, scalable infrastructure that mimics enterprise environments across multiple clouds.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate local and cloud‑based cyber range architectures supporting concurrent training scenarios.
• Develop automation frameworks for rapid deployment, teardown and reset of range environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Create emulated cloud services when direct integration is not feasible or cost‑effective.
• Implement security controls and network isolation to prevent range escape and resource abuse.
• Provide technical guidance and documentation for SimSpace software across various use cases.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectures, deployment procedures, troubleshooting steps and configurations.
• Collaborate with security researchers, training specialists and other technical stakeholders to ensure realistic and reliable training environments.
• Travel occasionally (≈10%) to customer or partner locations as required.

Required profile

• Strong networking knowledge, including virtual networking, segmentation, subnets, routing, firewalls, security groups, NACLs, VPNs and direct connectivity solutions.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools; familiarity with Puppet and Ansible is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker) and virtual machine deployment.
• Background working with cloud platforms and cloud‑based technologies.
• Familiarity with VMware, NSX‑T and enterprise IT architectures.
• Proven problem‑solving abilities and strong technical documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and customer interaction capabilities.
