Associate Security Architect

About the role

Join Akamai's Security Operations Center (SOCC) as an Associate Security Architect and help protect leading global brands from sophisticated cyber attacks. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, using industry‑leading tools to detect, analyze, and mitigate threats in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Own and operate the central alerting system to detect and respond to network attacks.
• Perform advanced packet analysis to identify malicious traffic and threats.
• Apply mitigation techniques to prevent vector attacks and reduce impact.
• Document technical issues, responses, and actions for internal tracking.
• Provide direct support to customers, resolving network and connectivity problems.
• Communicate findings and remediation steps clearly to customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of how the Internet works, including DNS, HTTP and the suite of IP protocols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for learning new security tools and technologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
