Financial Risk Manager – Vendor Payments & Transaction Accuracy

About the role

Amazon is looking for a data‑driven Risk Specialist to join the Financial Waste team within Accounts Payable. The role focuses on preventing, detecting and investigating erroneous vendor payments by leveraging large‑scale transactional data and advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Review extensive payment data from multiple invoicing, payment and procurement systems to identify erroneous payments.
• Execute audits, deep‑dives and special projects, communicating findings and recommendations to management.
• Maintain productivity targets and support other Finance Operations teams as needed.
• Collaborate with process owners to conduct walkthroughs and quality reviews of evidence to resolve complex issues.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s policies and procedures on invoice entry and transaction processing.

Required profile

• 4+ years of fraud/risk investigations experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fraud/risk investigations.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and effective communication.
• Experience working across cross‑functional teams and partnering at all organizational levels.
• 1+ years of experience with Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, Power Pivot) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
