Senior Financial Analyst – Global Financial Services (AWS)

About the role

Amazon’s Global Financial Services (GFS) team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to drive financial planning, analysis, and controllership for the AWS business. You will partner with senior leaders, translate complex data into actionable insights, and influence strategic decisions across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain monthly P&L analysis, OPEX and headcount forecasts, and financial models.
• Identify control risks, propose remediation, and lead improvements to strengthen controllership.
• Provide timely insights for business reviews, monitor forecast accuracy, and explain variance drivers.
• Lead ad‑hoc analyses, present recommendations to senior management, and drive continuous automation of finance processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience in tax, finance, or related analytical roles.
• 4+ years experience with accounts receivable/payable, KPI analysis, and process automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, business, or a quantitative field; Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL for data mining and business intelligence.
• Experience with Tableau and large‑scale reporting tools (MS Access, Essbase, Cognos).
• Proficiency in major financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Lawson, and JD Edwards.
