Technology Quality Engineer

About the role

The Technology Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring Walmart’s software systems meet reliability, performance, and user‑experience expectations. By embedding quality throughout the development lifecycle and leveraging automation, this position helps deliver scalable, high‑quality digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute test strategies for medium‑ to large‑scale applications, covering functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Define test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices aligned with business and technical specifications.
• Apply risk‑based testing to prioritize validation efforts and improve defect detection efficiency.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites to reduce manual effort and increase regression coverage.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation and faster feedback loops.
• Execute test cases, log defects, and perform root‑cause analysis in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Validate fixes through regression testing and ensure defects are fully resolved before release.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to align on quality expectations and support agile ceremonies.
• Promote a quality‑first mindset and contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks and methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality assurance, manual or automated testing.
