Switchboard Designer – Low Voltage Manufacturing

About the role

Power Design is seeking a Switchboard Designer to create detailed electrical designs for low‑voltage switchboards, controls, and related components. The role focuses on translating concepts into fabrication‑ready 3D models and comprehensive technical documentation using industry‑standard CAD tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical drawings for switchboards, junction boxes, troughs, and busways.
• Use Autodesk Fusion 360 to build, modify, and manage 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Optimize parametric designs for manufacturability, efficiency, and scalability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to move designs into prototyping, testing, and production.
• Apply Fusion 360 simulation and CAM tools to validate performance and generate toolpaths.
• Produce technical documentation, including BOMs, to support manufacturing workflows.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives targeting cost reduction and process efficiency.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Motivated design specialist who values accuracy and adaptability.
• Minimum two years of proven experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with parametric modeling, digital prototyping, and preparing models for fabrication.
• Fluent written and spoken English for communication with international teams.
• Possession of a current U.S. visa and ability to travel internationally as needed.
