Software Test Engineer (SDET) – Automation & Performance

About the role

The Software Test Engineer (SDET) will work from Accela’s Costa Rica center to ensure comprehensive regression and performance testing for the Accela Civic Platform SaaS releases. The role drives test automation, test‑driven development, CI/CD integration, and performance engineering across product releases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the launch and delivery of new Accela product releases and cloud deployment initiatives.
• Design, develop, and execute test plans, cases, and scenarios for functional and performance validation.
• Automate API and UI tests using Python, Robot Framework, and other open‑source tools, integrating them into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily scrums, sprint planning, and grooming sessions.
• Contribute to cross‑functional automation, performance, and infrastructure projects.
• Monitor application performance with Datadog and Windows/Database tools, identifying scalability issues.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to define test requirements and drive testing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in quality engineering, functional testing, and test automation.
• Proven experience with SaaS products, API services, and DevOps pipelines.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
