Site Reliability Engineer (Remote, Costa Rica)

About the role

SweetRush is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join its IT & Security team. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and evolving the software and infrastructure that power the company’s products and services, with a strong emphasis on automation, performance, and security.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure while ensuring security best practices.
• Install, configure, and operate server‑side software and related tools, including monitoring solutions such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X‑Ray, and AWS CloudTrail.
• Perform daily system monitoring, manage server resources, and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Provide desktop support for end‑users and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Automate deployment, maintenance, and security processes using modern infrastructure‑as‑code tools.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated professional comfortable working in a small, critical IT team.
• Strong interest in performance, reliability, and security of cloud‑based systems.
• Ability to work independently in a remote‑first environment.

Required skills

• Ubuntu/Linux server administration
• Bash scripting
• SSH, Rsync, Bacula (helpful)
• Git for source control and GitLab for CI/CD
• Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure automation
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS monitoring tools (CloudWatch, X‑Ray, CloudTrail)
