Project Engineer Intermediate I

About the role

The Project Engineer Intermediate I will join SYSS Engineering Group, a provider of fully engineered control system solutions for power and process plants across Latin America and the United States. Reporting to the project technical leader, the role involves designing, implementing and commissioning control system hardware and software for regional offices in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and the US.

Key responsibilities

• Design non‑complex control system solutions, including hardware databases, logic, graphics and datalinks.
• Select appropriate hardware and software components under guidance.
• Review application documentation for quality, accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with project technical leaders to verify requirements are met.
• Lead and execute factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning and startup activities.
• Develop implementation and commissioning plans aligned with project requirements.
• Supervise remote engineering teams and support subcontractors during engineering and commissioning phases.
• Track project progress, budget performance and risks, providing weekly status reports.
• Act as site leader for small groups (1‑3 engineers) during low‑ to medium‑complexity startups.

• Experience in control‑system projects for power, oil & gas, chemical, mining or similar industries.
