Buyer 2 – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer 2 will coordinate procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for Emerson. You will work closely with internal customers and multiple departments to ensure timely and cost‑effective acquisition of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Assist internal customers with creating requisitions for goods and materials.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and contract conditions with suppliers.
• Analyze costs, identify savings opportunities, and implement procurement optimization strategies.
• Follow up on overdue purchase orders and communicate material arrival timelines.
• Reschedule material deliveries as needed.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, operations, and quality assurance to ensure smooth procurement processes.
• Work with accounts payable to resolve invoice disputes.
• Process vendor returns efficiently and timely.
• Uphold ethical standards, fairness, transparency, and avoid conflicts of interest.

Required profile

• Understanding of internal customer relationships and interdependence.
• Ability to define overall goals and objectives.

• Alignment with goals and consistent productivity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Experience with Power BI for data analysis.
• Knowledge of MRP planning methods.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle is a plus).
