Production Supervisor – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Production Supervisor I to lead manufacturing teams at its Alajuela, Costa Rica facility within the Electrophysiology division. The role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality products while meeting production volume targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production staff, including scheduling, coaching, discipline, selection and training.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (FDA, TUV) and report quality issues promptly.
• Execute production plans to achieve productivity, schedule adherence, quality, cost and service goals.
• Own the assigned production area, monitor efficiency, and maintain safety standards.
• Collect and analyse leading indicators, prepare daily production reports and coordinate shift hand‑overs.
• Facilitate daily meetings to discuss performance, address issues and adjust schedules.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to investigate and resolve quality incidents quickly.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and team coordination.

Required skills
