Manufacturing Engineer I – Entry Level

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer I is an entry‑level position that provides engineering and technical support to internal teams. The role focuses on delivering quality, low‑cost products that meet or exceed customer expectations while addressing production challenges and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Execute basic engineering assignments such as ECNs, NPEs, and LCNs independently.
• Validate simple equipment and assist with larger project tasks under senior engineer guidance.
• Own specific equipment for preventative maintenance and calibration.
• Partner with the Value Stream Team to ensure capacity, scrap control, and labor efficiency.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with FDA, OSHA, ISO, and corporate policies.
• Assist equipment technicians in troubleshooting and support improvement programs (cost, quality, capacity).
• Collaborate with technical operations to modify part designs for better manufacturability.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, chemistry, biomedical, microbiology or related).
• Basic project‑management knowledge and understanding of equipment qualification and process validation.
• Experience or internship in a labor‑ and machine‑intensive manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel, SolidWorks, MiniTab, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt (Green Belt desired) and solid understanding of Lean principles.
• Knowledge of FDA GMP manufacturing requirements and related regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with lab and chemistry equipment such as weighing scales, mixing processes, and steam sterilizers.
