FIT Department Manager

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic FIT Department Manager to lead our Fully Independent Traveler (FIT) operations from our Heredia office. This full‑time, hybrid position combines on‑site leadership with occasional remote work, ensuring our guests receive personalized, high‑quality itineraries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end FIT process: design, price, confirm, and deliver customized travel itineraries.
• Manage and coach a professional team, assigning requests and reviewing their work.
• Coordinate with local suppliers—hotels, tour operators, transport providers—to negotiate rates and maintain service standards.
• Monitor performance metrics, resolve escalated client issues, and drive continuous process improvements.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure seamless travel experiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience in travel, tourism, or destination management, preferably with FIT or tailor‑made services.
• Strong people‑leadership abilities, including team management, coaching, and performance tracking.
• Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
• Availability to work on‑site in Heredia with hybrid flexibility during peak seasons.
