Financial Risk Manager – Vendor Investigations & Transaction Accuracy

About the role

Amazon is looking for a data‑driven Financial Risk Manager to join the Financial Waste team within Accounts Payable. The role focuses on preventing, detecting, and investigating erroneous vendor payments by leveraging large‑scale transactional data and advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the team’s vision to prevent, detect, and investigate payment errors using data from multiple invoicing, payment, and procurement systems.
• Review extensive payment datasets to identify and flag erroneous transactions.
• Conduct audits, deep‑dives, and special projects, delivering clear recommendations to management and stakeholders.
• Maintain productivity targets and support Finance Operations teams on shared activities.
• Follow Amazon’s policies for invoice entry and transaction processing.
• Coordinate with process owners to perform walkthroughs, quality reviews, and resolve complex issues.

Required profile

• 4+ years of fraud or risk investigations experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fraud/risk investigations.
• Proven ability to work across cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• 1+ year of experience with Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, Power Pivot) and data‑visualisation tools such as Tableau.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex ideas.
