Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Joby is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop and verify software for advanced aviation systems. You will join a small, fast‑moving team that builds the embedded code powering our vertical‑take‑off air‑taxi.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software for a range of avionics components using C/C++.
• Follow aeronautical coding standards and write software requirements in compliance with certification guidelines.
• Collaborate with the verification team in a Test‑Driven Development environment, creating and executing test cases.
• Develop and use test‑automation tools for both software and hardware validation.
• Document test results and review code, requirements, and documentation to support certification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of computer architectures, digital and analog circuits.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Fast learner with strong problem‑solving abilities.
