CAD Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled CAD Engineer to lead the design, development, and documentation of complex mechanical systems for our vertical‑take‑off air‑taxi. The role transforms conceptual ideas into precise 3D models and 2D drawings while ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards and product‑lifecycle requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX.
• Apply advanced GD&T principles to control critical dimensions and perform tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Manage product lifecycle data within PLM/PDM systems.
• Lead design iterations from prototype to mass production, meeting project milestones.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve design challenges and optimise designs for assembly (DFMA).
• Support prototype builds by providing tooling models and verifying design intent.
• Create technical packages for suppliers, including material specifications and finishing requirements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in an engineering environment (R&D or manufacturing).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (C1 level).
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior members.
• Willingness to travel and hold a valid USA visa.

Required skills

• SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA V5/V6 (or equivalent 3D CAD software).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.100/Y14.24 standards.
• PLM/PDM data management.
• Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA).
• Knowledge of machining, injection molding, sheet‑metal fabrication, and welding processes.
• Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Familiarity with electromechanical schematics and electronics (desired).
