BIM/CADD Technician I – Substation Drafting

About the role

Ulteig is seeking a BIM/CADD Technician I to support the Substation Department. The role provides 2D and 3D drafting support to engineers, creating construction drawings and models for electrical substations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technical staff to develop accurate 3D Revit models of substations.
• Ensure models reflect design specifications and integrate with other project deliverables.
• Maintain up‑to‑date models and meet project deadlines.
• Produce plan and section views, construction details, electrical one‑lines, schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and communications diagrams.
• Participate in special projects, assist colleagues, and adapt to changing priorities.

Required profile

• Two‑year technical degree or current enrollment in Technical Drafting.
• Minimum of 2 years’ drafting experience.
• Bilingual English‑Spanish (B2‑C1 level).
• Permanent authorization to work in Costa Rica.
• Strong attention to detail and good teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Revit
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• AutoCAD (preferred)
• MicroStation (plus)
• Knowledge of substation electrical protection and control (beneficial)
