Wireless Support Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Wireless Support Engineer to join its technical support team in Costa Rica. This hybrid position requires you to work on‑site two days a week, providing expert assistance on wireless networking solutions for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging and resolving customer support escalations across multiple inbound channels.
• Configuring, testing and troubleshooting wireless protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X).
• Building and maintaining Layer 2/3 network testbeds to reproduce customer issues.
• Analyzing logs, filing bug tickets and working closely with developers to drive solutions.
• Ensuring response quality, timeliness and overall customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of technical support experience in wireless networking or wireless security.
• Strong knowledge of wireless access points and Wi‑Fi standards.
• Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Legal right to work in Costa Rica (no visa sponsorship).

Required skills

• Wireless access points configuration and troubleshooting.
• Wi‑Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax protocols.
• WPA2, WPA3 and 802.1X authentication.
• Layer 2/Layer 3 networking.
• Core network protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP.
• Juniper router and switch knowledge (certification a plus).
• Log analysis and root‑cause identification.
