Warehouse Assistant

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for a Warehouse Assistant in Pavas, San Jose (pay grade 165) to support day-to-day warehouse operations. The role helps keep materials moving safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate inventory records and a well-organized warehouse. It covers receiving, storage, distribution and inventory control, combining hands-on material handling with documentation and SAP-based inventory management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in receiving and inspecting materials to check accuracy, condition and quality.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory and material movements using SAP and other inventory tools.
• Coordinate transfers of materials within the warehouse to support space use and efficiency.
• Prepare shipping and receiving documents and keep warehouse records orderly.
• Support picking, packing, distribution and goods receipt as needed.
• Carry out inventory counts, cycle counts and audits as directed by management.
• Keep the warehouse clean, orderly and compliant with safety protocols.
• Support training of junior staff and perform other duties assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of material handling and shipping procedures.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and communication skills; able to work collaboratively.
• Nice to have: previous warehouse experience.

Required skills

• SAP proficiency for inventory management (preferred).
• Forklift operation.
