Trade and Customs Specialist

About the role

Join the Global Trade Compliance team in Costa Rica to support day‑to‑day operations related to customs and free‑trade‑zone activities. You will work closely with the Global Trade Compliance Lead, ensuring smooth import and export processes while maintaining accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational support to the Global Trade Compliance Lead.
• Prepare, review, and verify documentation for Free Trade Zone entries and import procedures, including invoice translations, forms, and airway bill endorsements.
• Coordinate export documentation and related materials for shipments to third‑country destinations.
• Monitor inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining real‑time control of goods.
• Maintain the Free Trade Zone Operations Control Book for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist internal and external audits by gathering, organizing, and classifying relevant records.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• University student (second year onward) pursuing a degree in Customs Administration, International Trade, or Law.
• Minimum two years of experience in customs, international trade, or related support roles.
• Strong interpersonal abilities to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated interest and willingness to develop expertise in customs, foreign trade, and free‑trade‑zone processes.
