Technical Specialist – Maintenance Planning

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Technical Specialist to lead maintenance planning for its production facilities in Grecia, Costa Rica. You will design and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety and GMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules.
• Coordinate planned work with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to minimise operational impact.
• Ensure work orders contain complete information (cause, actions, materials, labor time, follow‑up).
• Keep maintenance documentation up‑to‑date, including PM plans, job plans, task lists, and equipment master data.
• Analyse maintenance data to identify trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.
• Verify that all work complies with safety regulations, GMPs, and internal policies.
• Create optimized job plans covering tools, PPE, duration, required skills, and safety considerations.
• Follow up overdue work orders and ensure proper closure in the CMMS.
• Support technicians with CMMS usage, training, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives for asset reliability.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related industrial field.
• Proficiency with IBM Maximo (creation, update, and closure of work orders, preventive maintenance management, accurate data entry).
• English proficiency at B1 level.
• High School Diploma or technical certification in an industrial discipline.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and OSHA compliance.
