Tax Accountant

About the role

As a Tax Accountant within Swarovski's Global Business Services hub in San José, you will manage Sales & Use Tax activities for the US market. You will ensure accurate tax calculations, timely filings, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements while collaborating with local finance teams and IT.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and reconcile Sales & Use Tax for US business activities.
• Prepare, complete and file Sales & Use Tax returns.
• Perform tax projections and actual tax calculations according to applicable rules.
• Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Apply correct tax rules and support incorporation of tax changes into processes.
• Act as the interface with IT for technical issues affecting tax calculations.
• Liaise with local R2R teams and internal stakeholders for tax return reviews and process improvements.
• Support tax audits by preparing data, documentation and explanations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on accuracy, compliance and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Business Administration or a related field.
• First professional experience in finance, accounting or tax, preferably in a shared‑services or international environment.
• Interest or experience with US Sales & Use Tax processes, including calculation, reconciliation and filing.
• Strong numerical and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and coordinate actions.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (including pivots, VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
• Tax software or related research tools.
• Familiarity with financial systems.
