Supply Chain Manager – Purchasing & Production Planning

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Supply Chain Manager (Purchasing) to lead all aspects of purchasing, production planning, inventory management, receiving/warehouse, and material handling for the Structural Heart Business Unit. The role is based in the Coyol Free Zone and supports Abbott’s mission to improve health outcomes through innovative device solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage department staff to ensure business continuity and alignment with divisional plans.
• Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) forums to align production requirements with manufacturing capacity.
• Monitor execution of production plans, back‑orders, and finished‑goods replenishment strategies.
• Oversee overall inventory management for direct and indirect materials to guarantee product availability.
• Drive cost‑saving initiatives, manage Purchasing Price Variances (PPV), and ensure sourcing compliance.
• Collaborate with commodity managers on corporate sourcing strategies and freight optimization.
• Ensure material flow through the facility, including warehousing and material handling.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing or medical‑device environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to investigate and resolve supply issues quickly.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with quality, sales, operations, and logistics teams.
• Leadership skills to assign work based on priorities and monitor performance.
