Software Engineering Manager – Central America

About the role

Walmart Centroamérica is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead high‑performing engineering teams across Costa Rica and Guatemala. You will drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high‑quality software solutions that support the company’s digital transformation in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and design to deployment and maintenance.
• Ensure delivery of reliable, scalable solutions that meet business objectives.
• Promote best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and automation.
• Design secure, maintainable systems and evaluate technical trade‑offs.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities and explore emerging technologies to enhance products.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with proven leadership or Tech Lead responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills and advanced English proficiency.
