Senior Unclaimed Property Analyst

About the role

Sysco is seeking a Senior Unclaimed Property Analyst to serve as the Subject Matter Expert for its Unclaimed Property (UCP) program. The role leads execution, governance and continuous improvement of all UCP activities while ensuring compliance with state laws and minimizing financial risk.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end Unclaimed Property process for assigned Sysco entities, guaranteeing timely, accurate and compliant execution.
• Lead annual and ongoing UCP reporting, due‑diligence activities, state filings, payment processing and reconciliations.
• Monitor regulatory changes, communicate impacts and update processes proactively.
• Maintain the Unclaimed Property system, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
• Review and approve monthly and quarterly account reconciliations prepared by Global Accounting.
• Research and resolve complex reconciliation differences and accounting discrepancies.
• Coordinate due‑diligence reporting and submit accurate reports to state agencies within statutory deadlines.
• Respond to state inquiries and serve as the primary escalation point for complex UCP issues.

Required profile

• Senior accounting professional with deep knowledge of state unclaimed property laws and regulations.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and journal entry review.
• Strong analytical abilities and a track record of driving process improvements.
• Effective collaborator with Global Accounting, Treasury, Internal Audit, Legal and Business Units.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Unclaimed Property system used by Sysco.
