Senior Software Engineer – MEAN Stack

About the role

Software Mind, a team of engineers working with top companies, is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable software applications. The role centres on full-stack development with the MEAN stack, software architecture, database modernization and technical leadership, working with cross-functional teams on data analytics and reporting initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance applications with the MEAN stack.
• Guide coding standards, architectural patterns, unit testing and best practices; review code and mentor engineers.
• Lead refactoring, modernization and performance optimization, and build proof-of-concept solutions.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Support database modernization with MongoDB and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Collaborate with data and business teams on reporting, analytics and data integration with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
• Evaluate technologies for scalability and maintainability, and ensure security, policy and HIPAA/PHI compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6-10 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects and mentoring engineers.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum and Jira.

Required skills

• MEAN stack: MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js.
• JavaScript and TypeScript; backend services and RESTful APIs with Node.js and Express.js.
• Microsoft SQL Server, including schema design, stored procedures and query optimization.
• Power BI (data modeling, dashboards, reporting).
• Preferred: Microsoft Fabric, Docker, AWS or Azure, and software modernization and database migration projects.
