Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive the development of complex software, data and AI/ML platforms that power the enterprise. The role involves setting engineering direction, overseeing end‑to‑end delivery, and ensuring operational excellence across distributed teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of scalable, reliable software, data and AI/ML platforms.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle across multiple teams, including architecture, cloud deployment, DevOps practices and production operations.
• Define and execute engineering strategy that balances long‑term platform scalability with short‑term business priorities.
• Drive operational excellence through strong DevOps discipline, observability, monitoring and system health management.
• Partner with product, data science and platform teams to deliver high‑impact, enterprise‑scale solutions.
• Coordinate cross‑functional execution, align roadmaps and manage capacity planning, backlog prioritization and resource allocation.
• Influence enterprise architecture decisions and mentor high‑performing engineering leaders and teams.

Required profile

• Strong experience leading large‑scale, enterprise software platforms with high availability and performance requirements.
• Deep expertise in software architecture and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to build, mentor and develop high‑performing engineering teams.
• Strategic mindset with disciplined execution and strong stakeholder partnership skills.
