Senior Project Manager

About the role

Rocket Software is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex mainframe modernization initiatives across its product suite. You will drive projects ranging from $500k to $2M, and occasionally larger transformations up to $10M, ensuring delivery excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full project lifecycle for high‑risk, multi‑region initiatives, managing timelines, deliverables, and quality standards.
• Define and document clear project scope and objectives, preventing scope creep.
• Utilize Rocket’s project‑management framework to accelerate time‑to‑value and maintain customer‑centric outcomes.
• Coordinate requirement‑gathering, kickoff, status, and review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as the primary interface with customers, building trust‑based relationships aligned with Rocket’s core values.
• Monitor risks, address challenges proactively, and ensure project momentum.
• Collaborate on resource, schedule, and financial alignment to meet contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in infrastructure, application, or process modernization, hybrid cloud deployments, microservices architecture, or enterprise‑wide DevOps.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale mainframe modernization projects.
• Ability to lead multi‑function, multi‑vendor teams across regions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
