Senior Project Associate – Case Management (Integration Programme)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Costa Rica is seeking a Senior Project Associate to lead case‑management activities within the Integration Programme. The role supports migrants who remain in Costa Rica to obtain legal identity, regular status, and access to essential services and livelihood opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate overall case‑management activities for the Integration Programme across the Greater Metropolitan Area.
• Liaise with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners to facilitate migrants' access to housing, food, health, psychosocial support, and protection services.
• Support educational initiatives, including Spanish language training and skills certification, to enhance migrants' socioeconomic integration.
• Implement monitoring, evaluation, and quality‑assurance processes to ensure compliance with programme standards.
• Develop strategic protection plans, manage crises, and contribute to analytical reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Law or related field with at least five years of relevant experience, OR a high‑school diploma with seven years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, or other vulnerable groups.
• Experience liaising with government bodies, international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs.
• Prior work in an international humanitarian organization or multicultural environment is an advantage.
