Senior IT Site Reliability Software Engineer

About the role

Databricks IT Infrastructure and Operations is seeking a senior Site Reliability Engineer to bridge software engineering and systems architecture. You will own the evolution of core infrastructure and observability platforms, delivering resilient, automated solutions for our cloud environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy production‑grade infrastructure on AWS or Azure using IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and manage both hosted and self‑hosted runners.
• Implement observability by default, ensuring logging, metrics and alerts are enabled for internal applications.
• Develop internal AI plugins and automation scripts to streamline developer workflows.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, lead incident response, and conduct blameless post‑mortems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production‑level software engineering experience with strong Python expertise.
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform or Pulumi) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Hands‑on experience with containers (Kubernetes, Docker) and distributed systems such as Kafka.
• Proven ability to work independently on ambiguous projects and deliver results with minimal guidance.
