Senior Internal Auditor - IT

About the role

Deloitte Costa Rica is hiring a Senior Internal Auditor within its Internal Audit function, part of the Finance & Administration organization. The Internal Audit team provides independent, risk-based assurance and advice to the Deloitte USA firms' Board of Directors and management, evaluating and improving risk management, controls and governance. The position is hybrid, combining regular in-office collaboration with remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Support internal audit engagements by planning the approach and scope, preparing the audit program, defining procedures and following them through to completion.
• Use data analytics tools to identify trends, anomalies or risks and turn findings into clear, actionable business recommendations.
• Document, evaluate and test manual and automated systems and controls for effectiveness, compliance and asset protection.
• Communicate with client management to obtain documentation and understand systems and processes.
• Develop findings, recommendations and corrective-action timelines with leadership and monitor their implementation.
• Maintain professional skepticism, confidentiality and collaboration, and attend relevant training.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or information technology.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong spoken and written English and Spanish.
• Ability to travel as needed and legal authorization to work in Costa Rica without employer sponsorship.
• Preferred: internal audit experience and a certification such as CPA or CIA.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Data analytics proficiency.
• Understanding of risk and controls, auditing, basic accounting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with collaboration tools.
