Senior HR/Employee Lifecycle Operations Specialist

About the role

Mimica is transitioning its Costa Rican workforce from an EOR model to a fully owned local entity. As a Senior HR/Employee Lifecycle Operations Specialist you will own the end‑to‑end execution of payroll, benefits, and compliance processes, ensuring they run accurately, on time, and at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre‑hire compliance, right‑to‑work checks, documentation, and contract readiness.
• Process new‑joiner, leaver, and employment change transactions, generating contracts, amendments, salary certificates, and formal notices.
• Prepare, validate, and submit payroll inputs, including salaries, incentives, deductions, and adjustments.
• Coordinate operational workflows with vendors and internal stakeholders to keep payroll, benefits, and compliance on schedule.
• Own monthly payroll cut‑offs, approvals, and reconciliations, proactively tracking dependencies.
• Administer private healthcare and statutory benefit enrollments, changes, and issue resolution.
• Manage leave processes, ensuring alignment across policy, systems, and payroll outputs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee queries on payslips, taxes, and benefits.
• Monitor regulatory changes (CCSS, MTSS, DGT, INSS) and implement updates to maintain compliance.
• Support audits, statutory filings, and reporting for Costa Rica.
• Maintain clean, structured employee data across HRIS and payroll systems.

Required profile

• Solid background in HR services, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
• Experience handling employee lifecycle transactions in a fast‑growing environment.
• Familiarity with Costa Rican labor regulations (CCSS, MTSS, DGT, INSS).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
