Senior Front-End Engineer & Team Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Front‑End Engineer who will also act as the line manager for a team of contractor developers. The role blends hands‑on development of modern web applications with technical leadership, process improvement, and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain React/Next.js applications using TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Define front‑end architecture, coding standards, and best‑practice guidelines.
• Perform code reviews, optimise performance, ensure accessibility and responsive design.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as Cursor to accelerate coding, testing and documentation.
• Mentor and guide contractor developers, assess their performance and quality of deliverables.
• Coordinate front‑end work, report status, risks and recommendations to project leadership.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in React, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Experience building scalable, maintainable UI components and design‑system libraries.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native, micro‑service environments and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles.
• Previous experience leading or managing contractor/consultant teams.
