Senior DevOps, SRE & Cloud Engineer (Remote, Costa Rica)

About the role

UST is hiring a senior DevOps Engineer with experience supporting production applications and cloud infrastructure. The position is remote and based in Costa Rica. The role covers designing, developing, testing and maintaining scalable software applications and services, including APIs, microservices and cloud-native solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain scalable software applications and services.
• Develop APIs, microservices and cloud-native solutions that support business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and promote coding standards, quality and security best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, test and production environments.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on DevOps, cloud engineering or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.
• Preferred: cloud certifications (AWS, Azure or GCP), Kubernetes certification (CKA/CKAD), SRE practice experience, and experience in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C#, Go or JavaScript).
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
• Docker and Kubernetes; Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or ARM/Bicep.
• Git; monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch or Azure Monitor.
