Senior Data Scientist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a leading global foodservice and distribution organization that is expanding its Data and AI capabilities. The role is fully remote, based in Costa Rica, and requires hands‑on development of advanced machine‑learning models that drive real business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain predictive and prescriptive models to solve complex business problems.
• Mine, cleanse, validate, and engineer large datasets ensuring high‑quality inputs for modeling.
• Identify and integrate new data sources to enhance analytical solutions.
• Apply machine‑learning, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling techniques to business challenges.
• Build, evaluate, tune, and continuously improve models, monitoring performance with metrics, scorecards, and dashboards.
• Operationalize models using MLOps practices and support their production lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate outputs and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Partner with technology teams to integrate analytical solutions into broader systems.
• Communicate methodologies, results, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a data scientist with a strong track record of delivering end‑to‑end machine‑learning projects.
• Ability to quickly understand existing environments and work autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior business leaders and technical teams.
• Curiosity and a solution‑oriented mindset when navigating ambiguous problems.
