Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Software Mind is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering team of one of its clients. It is a hands-on role focused on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality and supporting analytics and reporting across the organization. The position is based in San José and accepts applications from LATAM countries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Snowflake, processing structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
• Build and optimize data models and processing workflows to support BI, analytics and reporting
• Build and maintain datasets, dataflows and dashboards in Domo
• Set up monitoring and alerting to ensure pipeline performance and data quality
• Integrate data from external APIs and third-party systems (e.g. Salesforce)
• Work with Software Engineering, Architecture, Product, Analytics and IT teams, translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Review code, mentor other data engineers and help with onboarding
• Take part in Agile ceremonies such as standups, retrospectives and planning

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining ELT/ETL systems
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (must-have)
• Hands-on experience creating datasets, dataflows and dashboards in Domo (must-have)
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong written and verbal English; comfortable in a fast-paced, Agile environment

• Advanced SQL, data modeling, stored procedures and query optimization

• AWS cloud-native services (Kinesis, Lambda, S3, SQS, CDK)
• Nice to have: Salesforce API integrations, Snowflake or AWS data analytics certifications, MongoDB or DynamoDB
