Senior Controller / Staff Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Controller / Staff Accountant to join our remote team in Costa Rica. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day accounting operations, audit coordination, and managing relationships with external finance vendors. This hands‑on role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to drive efficient accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close process, ensuring reconciliations, journal entries, supporting documentation, and financial reports are accurate and timely.
• Review and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, cash‑flow reports, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and general ledger activity.
• Serve as the primary internal contact for external accounting firms, bookkeepers, tax advisors, payroll providers, and other finance‑related vendors.
• Lead audit preparation, manage auditor requests, coordinate documentation, and track deliverables.
