Senior Cohesity Architect / Engineer

About the role

CMK Resources is looking for an experienced Senior Cohesity Architect / Engineer to support its partner within a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment. The role is highly technical and hands-on, covering Cohesity platform architecture, administration, cloud migrations, disaster recovery, ransomware resilience and backup infrastructure optimisation. It suits someone who can work independently, give technical recommendations and take ownership of complex infrastructure initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as technical subject matter expert for enterprise Cohesity backup and recovery, supporting operations, troubleshooting and platform improvements.
• Assess and optimise existing Cohesity environments, including physical clusters, Cloud Edition (CE) and Next-Generation Cloud Edition (NGCE).
• Review backup configurations, protection policies, monitoring, alerting and operational processes, and implement improvements.
• Support migration of Cohesity CE clusters to NGCE, including configuration, workload onboarding and validation.
• Design, configure and optimise Cohesity solutions in AWS, including protection of Amazon RDS and other cloud workloads.
• Evaluate and enhance disaster recovery and ransomware recovery strategies across on-premises and public cloud environments.
• Design, implement and troubleshoot cross-cluster replication, high availability, fault tolerance and resiliency solutions.
• Take part in DR testing, ransomware recovery simulations and readiness exercises, documenting findings and remediation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security and operations teams, and develop technical documentation, runbooks and standards.
• Evaluate opportunities to use native Cohesity AI and automation capabilities.

Required profile

• Extensive hands-on experience with Cohesity in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience with Cohesity CE and/or NGCE.
• Hands-on experience with protection groups, backup policies, retention, replication and restoration.
• Ability to assess existing infrastructure, identify gaps and implement improvements independently.
• Nice to have: direct CC to NGCE migration experience, CCS experience, cross-region replication, ransomware recovery exercises, Cohesity AI knowledge, scripting with Python, PowerShell or Terraform, and relevant Cohesity or AWS certifications.
