Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

About the role

The Business Intelligence Engineer designs, delivers and maintains scalable reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-informed decision-making. The role covers the full analytics lifecycle, from gathering business requirements and ensuring data quality to building automated dashboards and analytical solutions that identify trends and opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of BI solutions, ensuring accuracy, reliability and timely availability of data products.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to turn business questions into analytical solutions and refine dashboards and reports.
• Design, build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports, and run ad hoc analyses for business inquiries and special initiatives.
• Manage data workflows so refresh cycles run smoothly and data disruptions are resolved proactively.
• Implement data quality controls and move reporting toward more proactive and predictive analytics where possible.
• Automate manual reporting, converting spreadsheets into scalable dashboards using modern data-stack tooling (e.g. dbt, Looker, cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift).
• Work with data governance teams, manage project scope, risks and milestones, and guide and support team members.
• Communicate project status, risks and insights clearly to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience delivering analytics, reporting or BI solutions in data-driven environments.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and explain insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with data quality assurance validation or assessments, and familiarity with ETL and automation concepts.
• Experience in Agile delivery methods.
• Desired: 1+ year of team leadership or mentoring peers, and familiarity with Git-based workflows for analytics code.

Required skills

• SQL for querying, transforming and analysing complex datasets.
• Dashboards with tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or Data Studio.
• Strong experience with large datasets in Excel or Google Sheets, including automation and advanced analysis.
• Preferred: working knowledge of a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and sales SaaS tools such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle or Zoho.
